DESCRIPTION:
WW - Vulcain Chronometre Hermetic, retailed by B.P. De Silva, Singapore & Penang, circa 1929, manual wind, 31mm x 38mm to lug tips, 12mm wire lug width, original 18K yellow gold hermetic style screwed down bezel case with inner flip out case in base metal with hidden winding crown for extra dust resistance, engraved image of a bowman with initials on case back, brown lizard strap, original white enamel dial with black numerals, 16J, case s#102976. The most well known of these Hermetic styled watches was the Rolex, however many other brands were known to have made them as FB (François Borgel) made the cases and independently supplied them to various makers.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, excellent-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, light oxide to steelwork, light fine scratches on plates; fine dial with chip and repair at 11; excellent blued steel hands with light oxide; polished case shows light wear, several dings on back; crown shows very little wear, good threads; good crystals.
